He was predeceased by: his parents, George A. Whatley and June Reynolds Whatley; his daughter-in-law Heather Ford Whatley; and his brother Jack Milton Whatley. He is survived by: his children, Maria Whatley Tidwell and James Clint Whatley of Laurel, MS; his brother Bill Whatley (Connie) of Buckatunna, MS; his grandchildren, Brennan Whatley, Mollie Moore (Garrett), Jackson Whatley and Maggie Sue Jones (Brice); and the mother of his children Sue Miller. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 4th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Freeman Funeral Home (1305 Skyland Dr, Waynesboro, MS 39367). A graveside service was held on Friday, September 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Evergreen Baptist Church (788 Shubuta Eucutta Rd, Shubuta, MS 39360).
