We are sad to announce that on June 18, 2025, at the age of 56, Joan L Keyes of Laurel, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, may Joan find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may her legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.
She is survived by: her parents, Arthur Carter and Shellie Shoemake; her children, Lonnie Cortez Keyes and Porosha Keyes; and her siblings, Michael Carter Sr., John L. Carter, Arthur James Carter, Emma Flowers, Barbara Shelby and Linda Strong. She is also survived by one grandchild as well as other family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Stringer Church (366 Co Rd 17, Stringer, MS 39481). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
