He was predeceased by: his son John L. Wright, Jr.; his parents, J. C. Wright and Bertha Lee Yancey; and his siblings, Erma Luckett, Edward Jackson and Cecil Jackson.
He is survived by: his wife Sallie Wright of Laurel; his children, Lovely Monroe of Laurel, Samuel Monroe of Milwaukee, WI and Danielle Pugh (Tommy) of Milwaukee, WI; and his sisters, Beverly Jones and Francine Rice (Alonzo). He is also survived by three grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jones and Son Funeral Home of Moselle Saturday (18 Moselle-Seminary Rd, Moselle, MS 39459).
