It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Johnny Eligah Johnson of Laurel, Mississippi, who passed away on May 3, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Eligah "Lige" and Emma Simpson Johnson; his wife Peggy Ann Jones Johnson; and his siblings, Willie Holifield, Ellen Moss, Geneva Flynn, Hiram Johnson, Ray Johnson and Cecil Johnson.
He is survived by: his son Tony Johnson (Nikki); and his sisters-in-law, Sandra Baucom (Jay) and Patsy Stringer. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the JCJC Foundation Inc. (900 South Court Street Ellisville, Mississippi 39437) to fund a scholarship honoring his legacy, the Johnny E. Johnson Memorial Scholarship.
