He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Holifield and Doris Hinton Holifield; and his brother Jimmie Holifield. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Myers Holifield; and his sister Vickie Jameson (John) of Houston, TX. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Eastview Baptist Church or Kendrick Ministries.
