She was predeceased by: her parents, James Otis and Ava Lee Hardee Eaves; her husband James Chapman Waites; her grandson Hunter Thomas Havard; her sister Allene Eaves Mason; and her siblings-in-law, Mary and Paul Lewey.
She is survived by: her daughters, Cathy Moore (Jerry) of Brookhaven, MS and Melinda Havard (Danny) of Houston, TX; her grandchildren, Chris, Leah Moore, Chad, Whitney Moore, Brad, Zoe Haverstein, Brock Havard, Dr. Hallie and Andy Malone; and her brothers-in-law, Tony Mason and Dr. Thad Waites (Gerri). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church of Laurel Endowment Fund, the Dr. James and Josephine Eaves Waites scholarship through the USM Foundation, or Gideons International.
