He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Rue Stephens and Forrestine Anderson Burt; and his brother Jackie Rue Stephens. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Brownlee Stephens; his children, Elisa Stephens Randall (Robbie) and Lonnie Edward Stephens (Judy); his grandsons, Christopher Patrick Kenny (Chantelle), Eric Robert Kenny (Erin), Jacob Robert Stephens and Jarrett Nathaniel Stephens; his great grandchildren, Alisha Renee Kenny, Averie Elizabeth Kenny, Brooks Robert Kenny and James Maxwell "Max" Kenny; and his sister Sherry Stephens Varner.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Chief's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (http://www.stjude.org).
