He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, W. B. Sykes and Susie Sanders Sykes; his children, Mitch Sykes, Billy Sykes (Rita), John Sykes, Sandra Berlin of Laurel, Charlotte Jackson (Lavon) of Laurel and Susan Merritt (Buddy) of Laurel; and his sister Etta Kittrell of Arizona. He was also cherished by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
