The memory of Merlon Tye Williamson of Laurel, Mississippi, who passed away on June 4, 2025 at the age of 51, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Reverend D. P. "Doc" Williamson and Sybil Chisolm Williamson. He is survived by: his siblings, Dal Williamson (Cindy), Gay Robertson (Danny), Joy Craig (Jeff) and Lyn Sherman (Richard); and his nieces and nephews, Lane Staines (Scott), Day Gibbes, Jarrod Hare (Nikki), Josh Hare, Blake Sherman (Brittany), Cade Sherman (Dianna), Matt Sherman (Khaki), Courtney Craig and Heather Craig.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 8th 2025 at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Tye's memory to the ARC of Jones County or West Jones High School, Special Education Department and LOVE IN ACTION.
