He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Peavy and Gertrude Peavy; his sister Faye Calhoun; his grandson Christopher Peavy; and his great grandchild Braxton Lott.

He is survived by: his wife Anna Peavy; his children, Deborah Peavy and Dr. David Peavy (Jan); and his grandchildren, Doneada Stevens, Bridgette Lott (Pete), Sarah Peavy, Angie Peavy and Mike Dykes.
