Rusty Bobbitt Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rusty Bobbitt of Laurel, Mississippi, who passed away on June 19, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Rusty departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Rusty may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Rusty leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett R. Bobbitt II and Frances Louise Bobbitt; and his brother James Edward Bobbitt. He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Clark of Laurel; his children, George Bobbitt (Connie) of Memphis, TN, Andrea McGavin (Darrel), Buford Downing of Myrick and Aaron Downing (Nikki) of Ovett; and his sister Sarah Ceriddle of North Carolina. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jesus Name Church (802 N Church St, Ellisville, MS 39437). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Biloxi National Cemetery (400 Veterans Ave, Biloxi, MS 39531).
