It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rusty Bobbitt of Laurel, Mississippi, who passed away on June 19, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. As Rusty departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Rusty may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Rusty leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett R. Bobbitt II and Frances Louise Bobbitt; and his brother James Edward Bobbitt. He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Clark of Laurel; his children, George Bobbitt (Connie) of Memphis, TN, Andrea McGavin (Darrel), Buford Downing of Myrick and Aaron Downing (Nikki) of Ovett; and his sister Sarah Ceriddle of North Carolina. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
