With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Stover Lester Smith Jr. MD (Laurel, Mississippi), born in Ellisville, Mississippi, who passed away on December 16, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Stover Lester Smith Sr. and Henrietta Easterling Smith; his siblings, Norma Ruth Reagan, Margie Nell Lycette, Martha Christine Puckett and William Larry Smith; his wife Clara Stephens Smith; and his son Stroud Stover Smith.

He is survived by : his brother Thomas Gary Smith of Tyler, Texas; his children, Clara Stephenie Rudolf (William B. Rudolf) and Stover Lester Smith III (Amy Smith); his grandchildren, Elizabeth "Libby" Rudolf, William B. Rudolf, Jr., Stroud Rudolf, Briede Smith and Laurel Smith; and his great grandchild Harris Diliberto.

He was an elder at St. Charles Presbyterian Church in New Orleans and First Presbyterian Church in Laurel and was a benefactor of Lauren Rogers Museum of Art by donating part of his collection.
