He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Tolbert and Louvinia Henderson; his stepmother Frankie Tolbert; his son Thomas Shane Tolbert; and his grandson Bryan Smith Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Judith Lynn Tolbert; his granddaughter Haley Marie Tolbert Mooney; his stepdaughter Jennifer Walters Smith; and his siblings, Billy Tolbert (Gale), Ronnie Tolbert (Melissa), Ricky Scott, Kathy Garcia and Belinda Spicer. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
