He is survived by: his wife Dianne Shoemaker; his children, Debra Shoemaker, Angelina Corey (Joseph), James Pierce (Christine) and Paul Pierce (Rhonda); and his sister Shelia Shoemaker Watson. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Sweetwater Missionary Baptist Church (421 Jeff Davis Rd, Leakesville, MS 39451). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
