He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas "JT" and Winnie Ester Carter. He is survived by: his daughter Stephanie Yvonne Carter (Emmanuel Mendoza); his grandsons, Austin Moore and Corey Moore; his sisters, Janice Carter and Kay Carter Richmond; and his niece Jene Black Smith.
