He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Dean and Margaret Dean; and his brother Stanley Dean. He is survived by: his wife Susan Stuart Dean; his children, Robert Dean (Lisa) and Alison Long (Cliff); his grandsons, Walker Dean, Cliff Long IV and Graham Long; and his sister Betty Reese.
A graveside service was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Leland-Stoneville Cemetery.
His accomplishments and contributions to the sport were recognized through his selection for induction into the State of Mississippi Tennis Hall of Fame.
