With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marie Hardie Smith of Long Beach, Mississippi, who passed away on April 13, 2026 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Champ Hardie Sr. and Gladys Emerson Hardie; and her brothers, John Hardie and Charles Wade Hardie. She is survived by: her husband Wayne Smith of Long Beach, Mississippi; her children, Gary Tincher and Lynn Tincher-Ladner; her stepchildren, Kip Smith, Kirk Smith, Gabe and Trish; and her siblings, Champ Hardie Jr., Jimmy Hardie, Molly Hanks and Vicky Stroupe. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Phi Theta Kappa Foundation.
