He was predeceased by: his sons, Shannon McNeil, James Howell Upton and Anthony Keith McNeil; and his parents, James Robert (Audie Sims Upton) and Eddie Upton (James Robert Upton, Jr.).
He is survived by: his wife Linda Armour Upton; his children, Lee Upton (Kim), Stanley McNeil (Marie) and Lynn Hoffman (Jason); his grandchildren, Laci McNeil Stanvitch, Jessica Upton Lee, Jamie Upton, Dylan Upton, Kynsey Upton, Richie Lopez and Raegan Byrd Hodge; and his half-sister Lucy Scoggins. He is also survived by 11 step-grandchildren and 17 step great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Bay Springs (22 E 4th Ave, Bay Springs, MS 39422). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 25th 2025 at the Louin Cemetery.
