He was predeceased by: his wife Jean McKenzie Sims; and his parents, Steve Chester and Lena Shoemaker Sims. He is survived by: his sons, Rodney Sims of Bay Springs, Anthony McKenzie Sims of Louin and Jeffery Sims (Cara) of Bay Springs; his grandchildren, Dr. Haven Bynum (Derek) of Canton, Ryan Sims of Bay Springs, Peyton Asher Sims of Laurel and Cole Sims of Bay Springs; and his great grandchild Baylor Bynum of Canton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Antioch Baptist Church (1611 MS-18, Louin, MS 39338). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 3:00 PM and at 4:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery (1611 MS-18, Louin, MS 39338).
