He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennett Hudson and Lillie Hudson; his wife Johnnie Hudson; and his siblings, Marvin Hudson, Lonnie Hudson, Minnie Johnson, Bettie Hudson, Jean Weaver and Grace Huffman.

He is survived by: his children, Thurston Hudson (Lisa) and Harvin Hudson (Mattie); his grandchildren, LaDonna "Peb" Hunter (Jonathan), Keshia Magee, Kristen Jones (Jacob), Kayla Hudson, Ansley Hudson (Joy), AJ Link (Chelsea) and Jarrett Link; and his great grandchildren, Areyanna Hunter, Aniyah, Jonathan Hunter, Jr., Anjyl Hunter, Azarieen Hunter, Addilynn Hunter, Rori Haze Hudson and Appomattox Link. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
