She was predeceased by: her parents, John Hester Thames and Annie Ruth Smith Thames; her grandparents, Pearline Smith, Johnny Smith, Ethel Thames and Willie R. Thames; and her siblings, Tameka Thames and Ricky Shields.
She is survived by: her husband Milton Ashford; her children, Jameesha Thames (Taneshia Carter) and Addia Ashford; her siblings, Andra Smith and Sharica Haynes (Jermaine); and her grandchildren, Jada Thames and JaCarlee Nelson. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins.
