He was predeceased by: his parents, Elena Fuquay Phillips and James Richard Phillips, Jr. (JR); his wife Iva Cooley Phillips; and his sister Melba Alinda Phillips. He is survived by: his sons, Elwood Phillips (Marsha), Keith Phillips and Rev. Shannon Phillips (Racheal); his brothers, Albon Phillips (Betty) of Lucedale, MS and Ricky Phillips (Cathy) of Wilmer, Ala.; his grandchildren, Kelso, Gregory Phillips (Shelby), Jennifer Stringfellow (Mikey), Bill Phillips (Aston), Scottie Phillips and Andy Phillips; and his great grandchildren, Michael Stringfellow, Kacelynn, Addie Phillips, Ryleigh Weaver, Cassidee Miller, Jase, Caroline Stringfellow, Remie Weaver, Holden and Brailon Phillips.
