He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia R. Wright; his son James Elvy Wright; his grandson Mitchell Todd Wright, Jr.; his parents, Felix James Wright and Pauline Sanderson Holt; his stepparents, Curtis Lloyd Holt and Lola Mae Wright; and his siblings, Bobbie Jack Wright, Kelly Dunn Wright, Sr. and Ralph Edward Wright (Evelyn).
He is survived by: his children, Mitchell Todd Wright, Sr. (Danyiele Schenk), Steven Glynn Wright (Belinda), Sterling Scott Wright (Cathy), Gregory Cleve Wright (Melanie) and Lorrie Virgina Wright; his grandchildren, Jimmy Friday Wright, II (Morgan), Ryan Scott Wright, Rorie Chase Wright, Dalton Schenk, Justin Scovel, Paula Michelle Tynes (Noah), Virginia Christine Wright Davis (Chase), Melania Virginia Wright and Gregory Cleve Wright, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Jaycen Todd Wright, Rylee Faith Wright, Rani Grace Wright, Noah Drake Tynes, Oaklynn Davis and Blair Sterling Estelle Tynes; his siblings, Walter Sanderson Wright, Sr. and Margarett Pauline Toups; his sisters-in-law, Fannie Wright, Rosalie Wright and Joyce Wright; and his close friends, Rosemary Baker, Tanita Wright Hornsby and Donna McWhorter. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the Moments Funeral Home (7158 MS-63, Lucedale, MS 39452). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
