She was predeceased by: her parents, Cecil McAuley and Margaret McAuley Kennedy; her brother Roy C. McAuley; her son-in-law Prentiss Brewer; her nephews, Dewey Revette, Jason Thornton, Chase Thornton and Hunter Thornton; and her mother-in-law Ida Thornton.
She is survived by: her husband Harvey Lamar Thornton; her children, Tammy Brewer (John Nyman), Joe Thornton and Cecile Yarber (Byron); her grandchildren, Matthew Brewer (Amy), Jesse Holloman (Jamie), Jackson Woods (Victoria), Tori Thornton (William Driskell), Codi Yarber (Megan) and Cierra Yarber; her sister Donna Lazanowski (Tony); her sisters-in-law, Kathleen Revette, Christine Jordan (Charles) and Mary Ann Thornton (Kermit); and her cousin Karen Alford (Allen). She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren, 11 nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Heritage Baptist Church (10183 MS-613, Lucedale, MS 39452). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
