He was predeceased by : his son Allen Howell; his parents, Millard Taft and Virgie Howell; and his siblings, Kenneth Howell and Carolyn Davis.

He is survived by : his wife Dorothy Lee Goff Howell; his children, Abby Goff (Lloyd) and Buddy Howell (Kellie); his grandchildren, Austin Howell, Chris Howell and Nicole Wallace; his great grandchildren, Jenna Wallace, Luke Wallace and Evelyn Howell; and his sisters, Bernice Mills, Glenda Faye Steede, Cindy Hodges, Becky Howell and Lisa Cochran. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, May 25th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Moments Funeral Home (7158 MS-63, Lucedale, MS 39452). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 25th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
