He was predeceased by: his wife Donna Shields; his parents, Cleo Pittman Shields and Earl Leroy Shields; and his brothers, James Shields and Henry Shields.
He is survived by: his children, Ray Shields Jr. (Debi), Laurie Hutchinson (Jack) and Brad Shields (Sabine); and his grandchildren, Jeremy Brown (Elizabeth), Amanda Breaux (Jerome), Daniel Hutchinson, Salem Shields, Ian Shields, Forrest Shields and Lexi Murdick (Matt). He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, May 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. Lucy Catholic Church (125 Scott Rd, Lucedale, MS 39452).
