He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Walter and Annie "Jacqueline" Nolf Smith; his wife Laverne Smith; his siblings, Walter Joe, Velma Fairley of Ira Clayton and John Buford "JB" Smith; and his parents-in-law, Herbert and Laurvine Davis Shepheard.
He is survived by: his daughter Angela "Angie" Moffett (Glenn); his granddaughters, Samantha Frank (Matt), Lillie Moffett and Kaylie Moffett; his great grandchild Memphis Montgomery; and his siblings, Helen Thompson, Annette Moore and Dale Smith. He is also survived by numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
