He was predeceased by: his son Michael Parker; his parents, James Parker and Hazel Crenshaw Parker; his brother James Daniel "JD" Parker; and his brother-in-law Lloyd Maulden.

He is survived by: his wife Debbie Maulden Parker; his son Van J. Parker (Karla); his stepsons, John Reinke (Kristi), Matthew Reinke (Amber) and Michael Reinke; and his siblings, Charlotte Shepherd (Albert Lee), Norman Parker, Delorse King and Anthony Parker (Darlene). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.
