She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Nollie Carter; her parents, John Luther and Mary Alice Merritt; and her siblings, Jack Merritt, Luther Merritt and Helen Williams.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kim Anderson (Billy) and Debbie Brooks (Dwain); her grandchildren, Joseph Schambeau (Samantha) and Nina Schambeau (Bill Breland); her great grandchildren, Brody Schambeau, Layla Breland and Carter Schambeau; and her siblings-in-law, Howard and Ruth Carter. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Salem Methodist Church (26900 Salem Campground Rd, Lucedale, MS 39452). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
