It is with sadness that the passing of Irma Dickerson (Macon, Mississippi) is shared. Irma, born on March 14, 1945, passed away on September 7, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Irma Dickerson to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Elizabeth Gardner Shanklin and George "Happy" Irby; and her siblings, Clarence Gerome Shanklin, Victoria Elizabeth Shanklin, Pattie Diane Shanklin and Kenneth Miller.
She is survived by: her husband Sellus Dickerson; her sons, Preston Medgar Dickerson of Pomona, CA and Adam Monte Dickerson of Columbus, MS; her siblings, Meller Pearl Verdell (Willie James) of Detroit, MI, Ruby Lee Shanklin Williams (Benjamin) of East Lansing, MI, Michael Theodore Shanklin of Ontario, John Monte Shanklin (Debra) of Goodyear, AZ, Wayne Dwight Shanklin (Linda), George Irby (Rosalind), Linda Irby Jones (Henry Lee) and Pam Irby Whitlock (John); her grandsons, Carlo Preston Dickerson, Jason Monte Dickerson and Brian Christopher Dickerson; her godchildren, Minister J'Marcus Brooks, Herleesha Rolle and Sonja; and her grandson Sanders. She is also survived by her two great-granddaughters and one great-grandson.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Carter's Funeral Home (200 Millers Chapel Church Rd, Macon, MS 39341). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Military Chapel U. M. Church. A burial was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at the Memorial Gardens Plant A Tree.
