He was predeceased by: his parents, Sudie Pearl Gray Chaney and Melvin Herbert Chaney Sr.; and his sisters, Patricia Chaney Betterton and Sandra Chaney. He is survived by: his children, Madeline Chaney and Christian Chaney; the mother of his children Mary Anna Wachtel; and his sister Lynda Chaney Whittemore (Jim Whittemore).
