He is survived by: his wife Gail Pugh Mateer; his daughters, Melissa Mateer Jeffress (Mack), Jennifer Mateer Powell (Stuart) and Rachel Mateer Kerian (Casey); his sister Lisa Mateer Field; and his friend Sharica Ross. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
