He was predeceased by: his parents, Fulton Thompson and Martha Louise Holliday Thompson; and his sister Susan Thompson Smith Dedrick. He is survived by: his wife Linda Gentry Thompson; his sister Sarah Judith Travis; his children, Dr. Robert Fulton Thompson, Jr. (Julie), Susan Thompson Madden (Jay) and James Murphy Thompson; and his siblings-in-law, Don Gentry and Cheryl Gentry. He is also survived by five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
