He was predeceased by: his parents, William Joseph Yates and Mary Etta Cockrell Yates; and his siblings, Millie Yates Brewer, Billy Yates and Roger Yates.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Kim Goins, Kevin Romero (Julie), Chris Romero (Stephanie) and Brian Romero (Selina); his brothers, Thomas Yates (Phyllis) and Donny Yates (Katherine); and his brother-in-law Charles Brewer. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Tutor Funeral Home - Magee (822 Simpson Hwy 149, Magee, MS 39111). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
