With sadness, we share the passing of James LaFayette Johnson of Magnolia, Mississippi. James LaFayette, born on April 11, 1939, passed away on August 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Casey C Johnson and Maude Marie Johnson; his wife Sonya C Johnson; and his sons, Casey "C. E." Johnson and Billy Joe Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Tammy Kelley, Chasity Jordan and Jamie Johnson (Ginger); and his grandchildren, Kye Kelley (Alisa), Lacey Kelley, Tashina Thompson (Joseph), Brandi Martin, Mariea Chandler, Christopher Johnson, Payton Jordan, James Mercier and Hallie Johnson. He is also survived by 21 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hartman-Hughes Funeral Home (412 Beulah Ave, Tylertown, MS 39667). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 1st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
