We are sad to announce that on September 15, 2025, Mary Benora Johnson of Mantachie, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Mary Benora farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Mary Benora is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Rodgers and Mary Paulene Burney Rodgers; and her siblings, Lee Nelson and Ben Rodgers, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Charles Johnson of Mantachie; her sons, Jeffery Wesley Johnson-Hastings of Gretna, NE and Ted Gray of Winona; and her sisters, Judith Nope of Missouri, Sonya Day of Cullman, AL and Mary Alice Stroud of Columbia, SC. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Winona Garden.
