It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jean Watkins Schmidt of McComb, Mississippi, born in Philadelphia, Mississippi, who passed away on January 10, 2023, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Cliff Watkins and Mrytle Gainey Watkins; her husband Richard E. Schmidt; her brother Clifford Homer Watkins; and her children, Eddie Schmidt and Vivian Schmidt Newton.
She is survived by: her daughters, Betty Robinson (Joe), Gail Hearn (Nelson) and Joan Stamps (Tim); her sisters, Faye Gambrell, Ann Lawrence (Arthur) and Nell Green (Vern); and her caregivers, Melissa Dyson, Kelly Lenoir and Linda Johnson. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made in her name to West McComb Baptist Church building fund.
