She was predeceased by: her husband Richard Root; her son Matthew Adam Root; and her father Harry Cook. She is survived by: her son Steve Root; her daughters-in-law, Kim Root and Patricia Root Lawrence; her sister-in-law Linda Root Delarosa; her grandchildren, Steven Mark Root, Jr., Mary Claire Root and Addison Elizabeth Root; her niece Nicole Delarosa Schmidt (Jessie); and her nephew Phillip Delarosa (Kelli).
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the McComb Church of Christ (1111 Parklane Rd, McComb, MS 39648). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 7th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Johnson Grove Church of Christ (665 Auburn Dr SW, Bogue Chitto, MS 39629).
