She was predeceased by : her parents, Lewis E. "Dubber" Byrd and Willie Flowers Byrd Scott; and her husband Bobby R. Smith. She is survived by : her cousins, Edward "Bubba" Flowers and Angel Smith Davis; her close friend Winnie Scott; her siblings-in-law, Ben Smith (Jean) and Bobbie Smith; and her nephew Chris Smith.
