He was predeceased by: his parents, William Oscar Chalk of Magee and Annie Runnels Chalk of Magee; his siblings, Otis Chalk and Brazell Chalk Meadows; and his daughter Ginger Chalk Barnard.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Welch Chalk of Mendenhall; and his children, Jane Clark (Earl), Walt Chalk (Cathy), William Chalk (Lezlie) and Woody Chalk (Tess). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
