She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas A. Smith; and her parents, John F. Boesdorfer and Irene Boesdorfer. She is survived by: her children, Kenneth "Smitty" Smith (Pam), John Robert Smith, Jeffery Allen Smith (Melinda) and Patricia M. Neal; her grandchildren, Kristin Parker (Luke), Jennifer Rose (Brad), Kasey Cannon (Joey), Lexie Shoemaker (Dalton) and Nikki Smith (Trey); her great grandchildren, Gracie Barlow (Blayne), Abbi Rose, Jordyn Parker, Sawyer Parker, Marley Rose, Piper Rose, Wyatt Cannon, Hudson Cannon, Shelby Shoemaker, Gracelynn Neal, Kaylynn Neal and Roselynn Smith; and her great great grandchild Rory Kate Barlow. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Mrs. Joanne's memory.
