Ira Sue Fortenberry Obituary
We are sad to announce that, on October 14, 2025, at the age of 92, Ira Sue Fortenberry of Mendenhall, Mississippi passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Bro. Nelson Fortenberry; her parents, Thompson Massemore and Sarentha Welch Massemore; her grandchildren, Ronnie Ellzy, JoAnn Sheppard and Misty Ellzy; her great grandchild Cole Bridges; and her siblings, Willie B. Thompson, Hazel Ellzy, Murle Myers and Pauline Berry.
She is survived by: her children, Johnny Ellzy (Sherry), Susan Borne and Linda Bridges (Dale); her stepchildren, Ronnie Fortenberry (Teresa), Jackie Lott (Steve) and Micalann Toy; and her siblings, Timmy Thompson (Tanealia) and Rebra Rainey. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Fellowship Baptist Church cemetery fund in Mendenhall.
