He was predeceased by : his parents, William Henry Ellzy and Eva Magee Ellzy. He is survived by : his wife Linda Palmer Ellzy; his children, Chasity McQueen (Steve), Alisha Walker (Bobby), Robyn Baeuerle (Shane) and James Ellzy, Jr. (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Matthew McQueen, Ella McQueen, Jake Walker, Andy Baeuerle and Luke Ellzy; and his brothers, Billy Ellzy (Karen) and Ken Ellzy (Charlotte).
