He was predeceased by: his parents, Hal Buchanan and Lillie Mae Buchanan; his sister Margaret Allen (Tip); and his son-in-law Chuck Thompson. He is survived by: his wife Miriam Gilmore Buchanan; his children, Jan Thompson, Mary Margaret Speed (Danny) and Lou Ann Henson; and his grandchildren, Ashley Wheeles (Paul), Alice Williams (Chris), Marie Speed, Jessica Speed, Krista Williams (Bart), Hailey Brown (Jonathan), Daniel Speed and Caleb Henson. He is also survived by Six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The family suggests memorials be made as donations to TEAAM (Together Enhancing Autism Awareness in Mississippi) at http://www.teaam.org in lieu of flowers.
