He was predeceased by: his grandparents, James Earl Sigler and Dorothy Ann Rutherford; and his stepgrandfather Sonny Lee Lewis, Jr.. He is survived by: his son Kristopher Ryland Rivera; his parents, Larry Upton, Sr. and Deborah Shortridge (Denny); his brothers, Larry Lewis Upton, Jr. (Ashley), Michael Upton and Daniel Upton; his niece Tayler Dobbins (Thomas "Tres"); his nephews, Adam Upton (Jewul) and Blake Upton (Hannah); his great-nephews, Sawyer Dobbins, Jamie Upton, Johnny Upton and Lane Upton; and his grandmothers, Ruby Lewis and Brenda Sigler. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Robert Barham Family Funeral Home (6300 MS-39, Meridian, MS 39305). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 10th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Chris's memory be made to the charity of your choice.
