He was predeceased by: his mother Dora Cooksey (Williams); his siblings, Ronald Cooksey, Herman Cooksey, Charles Rudolph Cooksey and Louise Dickerson; and his father James Barto Cooksey.
He is survived by: his wife Nellie Cooksey; his children, Debbie Cheatham (Rod), Wanda Mason (LaRon), Donald Wayne "Buddy" Cooksey (Lynette) and Steven Cooksey (Tracy); his grandchildren, Chase Cooksey, Colton Cooksey (Alexa), Hannah Mason, Cade Cooksey, Caroline Mason, Savannah Hurst (Cole), Sarah Cooksey and Riley Mason; his great grandchild Lani Coco Cooksey; his sister Edna Faircloth (Wayne); and his sisters-in-law, Jeanette Cooksey and Carlene Cooksey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Abundant Life Tabernacle Building Fund.
