With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Hugh C. Davis Jr. (Meridian, Mississippi), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 11, 2025 at the age of 82. In the vast expanse of eternity, Hugh shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Hugh farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Davis; his daughter Danielle Davis; his adoptive children, Molly Crosby and James Deviney; his brothers, Ed "Ollie" Davis and Raymond "Rai" Davis; his grandchildren, Victoria Çolak (Apo), Jason Barksdale and Anthony Deviney; and his great grandchildren, Ferah Çolak and Jacob Barksdale. He is also survived by six nieces; seven nephews.
