James D. Young Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James D. Young of Meridian, Mississippi, who passed away on July 21, 2022 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Young and Hazel Young of Quitman, Mississippi; his son Brad Young; his siblings, Tommy Young, Ronnie Young and Suzanne Priester; and his brother-in-law Joe Poythress.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Sue Young (Singleton); his daughters, Gloria Young Mayatt (Scottie) and Holly Young Hurst (Gene); his grandchildren, Anna Kaythryn Young, Payton Mayatt, Caden Mayatt, Brody Mayatt, Will Parker and Eli Hurst; his sister Shirley Poythress; and his brother-in-law Billy Priester. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Young be made to the Parkinson Foundation (http://www.parkinson.org).
