He was predeceased by: his wife Patricia Ann Poythress-Nelson; and his sister Sharon. He is survived by: his children, Scott Nelson (Minda), Janette Van Dyke and Jennifer Beucher; and his stepchildren, Debbie Thurston (Skip), Craig Poythress (Sherry), Keith Poythress (Gayla) and Michael Poythress. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.
