He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Leslie and Mattie Evans (McConnell); and his siblings, Dollie Evans, Ruby Dell Stine Taylor, Joe and Sam Evans.
He is survived by: his cousins, David Stewart and Jan Stewart Thames; and his nieces and nephews, Niccoli Haynes, Leigh Peregoy, Debra Asmus, Carol Williamson, Patricia Parnell, Greg Stine, Doug Taylor and Johnny Evans. He is also survived by spouses and children.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Jimmie Evans Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship Fund at MCC or to St. Jude's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee at https://www.stjude.org. The family also requests that instead of following the Southern tradition of bringing food for the family before or after the funeral, please donate food to a needy family or to the organization of your choosing.
